Lady Gaga wins Golden Globe award for ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’

Lady Gaga proves once again that she can do it all! Mother Monster took home her first ever Golden Globe award for “Best Actress in a Limited TV Series” on Sunday night.

For once, Gaga was speechless as she accepted her first acting award from her performance of The Countess on the FX anthology, American Horror Story: Hotel. During her speech, Gaga thanked her cast and the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy for helping her “shine.”

“I feel like Cher in that John Patrick Shanley film Moonstruck right now,” she said onstage. “It’s like one of the greatest moments of my life.”

Gaga added that she’s dreamed of being an actress before becoming a musician, but music ‘worked out first.’ The decorated musician won over an impressive list of nominees including Kirsten Dunst (Fargo), Queen Latifah (Bessie), and Felicity Huffman (American Crime).

When asked if he predicted Gaga’s win, Ryan Murphy told E! News: “The Golden Globes, you can never know what to expect with them. [But] I was just so thrilled for her because I think it’s something she’s wanted since she was a child, to be an actor.”

The creative mind behind AHS also revealed that The Countess never auditioned for the role,  “When I first spoke to her she said, ‘I wanted to be an actor before a musician, but I always tanked my auditions because I was too nervous.’ I said, ‘OK, I won’t make you audition, I just want you to do my show.”
