Premiere: Alexis Babini releases ‘Gimmie Sunshine’

The summer is winding down, but the music has never been hotter! With Drake’s “One Dance” and Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” duking it out for the 2016 “Song of the Summer” title, upcoming pop singer/songwriter Alexis Babini has a lot to compete with! But, that’s not going to stop this rising star from releasing this hot summer jam!

Babini’s new single, “Gimmie Sunshine” follows the release of his five-track EP Eh?, which debuted to rave reviews. Carried by simple guitar strums and percussion, “Sunshine” is an uplifting folk track at its simplest!

“It’s gonna be a perfect day/ I guess you can say, it’s been a while since I’ve been smiling,” Alexis sings before his first hook hits.

Babini’s previously cracked the iTunes Top 100 with his LP, The Pioneer Spirit and has had features on sites like Perez Hilton, All Music and American Songwriter. The Examiner praised Babini’s “engaging, lighthearted easy charm.”

A man with many talents, Babini can be seen as the banjo player in the current season of hit TV Land series, “Younger” starring Hillary Duff. Babini is also the lead singer of New York’s premiere Disney cover band, The Little Mermen. He is also a supporter of Musicians on Call, a charity where musicians sing at local hospitals to sick children.
His songs have appeared on shows like ‘Teen Mom’ and ‘The Real World,’ and “Gimme Sunshine” will be featured on episode 7 of TV show Bringing Up Bates  tonight on UP TV! ! Alexis is only beginning his musical journey and we’re excited to see where it takes him!
