Bad Romance Named #1 Music Video of 21st Century

Billboard staff released their picks of the 100 best music videos of the 21st century this week, and Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” tops the list!

“Bad Romance” was the first single from The Fame Monster. The track and video were released in November 2009. Billboard writes:

“Bad Romance” features some of her most gorgeous music-video looks — as silly as it seems now in the post-Joanne era, the video was praised by some critics for the “stripped-down” and “normal” makeup on display — as well as her most unsettling… With “Bad Romance,” she took the old standard for great music videos and set it aflame, then got to work building a new one.

Billboard’s top 100 list kicks off the website’s full week of celebrating the evolution of the music video. Missy Elliot claims the no.2 spot with the video for “Work It,” followed by D’Angelo for “Untitled (How Does It Feel?)”.
