Billie Eilish becomes record holder with number one album

17-year-old Billie Eilish has taken the world by storm with the release of her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Billie’s freshman release debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the only album from an artist born after 2000 to do so.

With over 48,000 combined sales, When We All Fall Asleep has become one of the best selling albums of 2019. Releasing on March 29th, the record was preceded with singles “Bury A Friend,” “You Should See Me In A Crown,” “When The Party’s Over,” and “Wish You Were Gay.”

Billie’s fifth single, “Bad Guy,” released aside the album and became her first to reach the Billboard top 10 debuting at No.7. Despite her previous single’s shortcomings, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? became Apple music’s most pre-added song to date with 800,000 pre-adds.

Of the album’s 13 tracks (14 including “!!!!!!!”), 12 are currently somewhere on the Hot 100 in addition to songs from her EP, “Ocean Eyes” and Lovely.”
