Billie Eilish released her first new track since the release of her debut album When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? on Wednesday.
“Everything I Wanted,” is a dark and dreamy tune which was co-written by the singer’s brother and sole-collaborator, Finneas. Of the pair’s many joint projects, “Everything I Wanted,” is something they wrote about each other.
“This song is one my brother and I wrote about each other.” Eilish explained before the song’s release. “No matter what happens, we always have been and will be there to make it better.”
In the track, Eilish sings about sadness and fear in the form of dreams coming true.
“And you say, As long as I’m here/No one can hurt you, Don’t wanna lie here/ But you can learn to,” she sings.
“Everything I Wanted” comes after a huge year for Eilish, releasing her No. 1 Billboard 200 album. Her world arena tour supporting the album kicks off in March 2020.
