Demi Lovato is hard at work on her fifth studio album and aims to be more authentic — and collaborate with Eminem.
The former Disney star released Demi in 2013 which brought us pop hits, “Heart Attack” and “Neon Lights”. The 22-year-old told ET Online she wants to release music that is “different” than what she has done before.
“This year, it’s super important to me that I embrace who I am as an artist and to become more authentic to who I am,” she said. “I want to release music that is different, that I’ve never done before… and that showcases who I am and what I can do vocally.”
When asked about artists Demi would like to collaborate with she revealed:
“Kelly Clarkson, duh!” she laughed, in reference to Kelly’s recent claims on nobody wanting to sing with her. “And, I would love to work with Eminem actually… I can relate to him with being in recovery and things like that, so I think we could make something awesome together.”
Miss Lovato also assures fans she will add a few slow songs to the track list as well.
“You can expect ballads, but it’s all about balance,” she said.
