One month after EDM producer Zedd promised to work with Kesha, the two collaborated at Coachella for a performance of “True Colors,” the title track from Zedd’s 2015 album.

Kesha is unable to record new music while her lawsuit against producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, Kemosabe Records, and Sony Records is up in the air. If you’ve been living under a rock, Kesha is suing the producer for allegedly drug raping her at age 18. She is suing the record label for covering it up. All the details here.
“True Colors” is a fitting track to cover with Zedd; the lyrics sound like a statement about how the world perceives Kesha’s career and what she’s willing to do to prove her talent and longevity in the business.
“I’m not afraid. I’m not. All my life, one pitch at a time, I’ll show you my true colors,” Kesha sings. “No, I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes. Let me show you my true colors. It ain’t no rainbow!”
Although the album version of “True Colors” did not list the name of the featured vocalist, many music fans were certain that the track featured distorted vocals belonging to Kesha. This has since been proven false, but after seeing the performance and listening to the lyrics, we have our suspicions.
“Her team actually hit us back confirming that I was serious about it, which is really cool,” Zedd told Entertainment Tonight of a collab last month. “I’m obviously very serious about it, so maybe something will happen. Maybe there’s something I can do. Maybe we can do some music. Nothing I can say right now, but it would be cool.”
Iggy Azalea and Lady Gaga are also sticking close to Kesha during her traumatizing legal battle. Maybe we can expect a feature on either of the artist’s new albums expected to drop this year? Let us know what you think in the comments!Published in
