Jordan Smith has just been crowned season nine’s champion of NBC’s The Voice! The season’s finale included special performances from Justin Bieber, Tori Kelly, and seven time Grammy nominee The Weeknd.
Smith was joined on stage by his coach Adam Levine and his parents as he sung an emotional performance of “Climb Every Mountain” one last time on the Voice stage. Carson Daly announced the winners after the two-hour event: Emily Ann Roberts placed second, while Barrett Baber and Jeffery Austin took third and fourth spots respectively.

Earlier in the night, Jordan sang alongside former Voice host, Usher, as they belted his hit “Without You.” The duo performed only one of the many incredible performances of the night! Other highlights from the show came from Missy Elliott and Pharrell performing their new collab “WTF (Where They From)” and Coldplay performing their new single “Adventure Of A Lifetime.”
The ninth season of the popular singing competition gained head waves after the show’s coaches Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani started dating shortly after divorcing their spouses. According to NBC, Gwen will not be returning next season and Christina Aguilera is set to reprise her role as the fourth coach. Blake responded to the decision saying doesn’t want Gwen to “not be on the show,” Shelton asked “Why can’t we have a fifth coach?”
Reportedly, Gwen’s departure from the show is only to allow her to focus on her music and has nothing to do with the budding romance between her and the country star. Gwen’s latest single “Used To Love You” was released in October following the divorce.
