Kesha keeps fans updated on YouTube with behind the scenes footage from her ongoing tour with Macklemore, but the “Praying” singer just announced a deeper look into her life: Rainbow – The Film.
The new documentary will premiere on Apple Music on August 10, one year after the release of Rainbow (the album). Fans can expect emotional moments as Kesha writes, records, and tours her 2017 comeback album.
“Sometimes things feel like, like they’re too much to handle. You may be able to pull it together and put on a front in front of others, but inside you’re trapped, suffocating slowly,” Kesha says in the beginning of the trailer.
Rainbow – The Film is the latest Apple Music doc, following previous releases focused on Major Lazer, Pink, Clive Davis, Cash Money, and more.

“Making Rainbow the album was such a therapeutic process and given the opportunity to turn it into a three dimensional piece of art has helped me find even deeper healing and catharsis,” Kesha said in a statement. “I hope this film inspires others to never give up even if you feel full of hurt or lost, because after the storm comes a rainbow. Depression, anxiety and mental illness are things we all need to talk about more, and there is no shame in asking for help. Making the decision to work on yourself is the bravest thing you can do. I hope this film helps bring light and love to everyone.”
We’ll be watching as soon as the documentary drops on August 10. Check out the trailer below and share your thoughts in the comments!
