Thanks to a curious fan, we now know that Kesha is likely to drop a new track titled “Woman” later this week. A Thursday release would follow her new single “Praying” by exactly one week.
Rumors hit the internet on Tuesday after a fan “Shazam’d” the previous leaked video for the song, and the service found a matching result. “Woman” featuring The Dap-Kings Horns appeared on the Shazam app, cover art included.
Scenes from a music video for “Woman” leaked two Thursdays ago, just one week before the star’s triumphant comeback with new single “Praying.”
The one-minute video snippet was leaked by a fan on Instagram and sees Kesha driving with friends while wearing a red, country getup reminiscent of Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons” look.
“I do what I want/ Say what you say / I work real hard every day,” she sings in the clip. “I’m a motherfuckin’ woman, baby, alright / I don’t need a man to be holding me too tight.”
Clips of the medium-quality leak are near impossible to find online after being taken down for copyright infringement, but we’re crossing our fingers that the video, produced by Kesha and brother Logan Sebert, will resurface in full this coming Thursday.
Kesha’s new single “Praying” is receiving praise from critics and listeners around the world. The singer’s pain following her failed legal battle against label owner, producer, and alleged rapist Dr. Luke seeps through her lyrics and vocals into listeners’ ears, begging to be heard.
“You brought the flames and you put me through Hell / I had to learn how to fight for myself / And we both know all the truth I could tell / I’ll just say this as I wish you farewell: / I hope you’re somewhere praying,” Kesha sings on the empathy-filled ballad.
Kesha returns to shelves and streaming with her third full-length album Rainbow on August 11th, but she won’t be alone. Featured on the singer’s cover of Dolly Parton’s “Old Flames (Can’t Hold A Candle To You)” will be none other than Dolly herself!
“Old Flames” was written by Kesha’s mom, Pebe Sebert, and released by Parton on her 1980’s album Dolly, Dolly, Dolly. The song was a #1, chart-topping success.
Rainbow featuring “Praying,” “Woman,” and “Old Flames” is available in stores and online on August 11th.Published in
