Kesha’s comeback is underway, thanks to Zedd! Yesterday, the pair posted pictures from the studio hinting at the new track, before the producer’s official announcement today.
According to Zedd’s Twitter, “True Colors” with Kesha will be released on April 29, sooner than expected!

“It’s a miracle when someone gives you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a fucking beautiful person with a heart of gold @zedd #truecolors,” wrote Kesha, who has been in the middle of a legal battle to get released from her label and from her alleged abuser, Dr. Luke.
Even before Kesha publicly accused Dr. Luke of drugging and raping her, the producer was known for burying music Kesha wrote or recorded with other producers. Most recently, Kesha recorded a standalone single in late 2014 with a producer named Casey Dunmore, but Dr. Luke prevented its release. More than 10,000 fans signed a petition in 2013 with hopes of separating Kesha from Dr. Luke for this behavior.
Though, Zedd’s work with Kesha might be risky, there may be ways around her contract with Luke. That is if Zedd is to release their collaboration(s) without Kesha credited as the vocalist. That’s what Zedd previously did with a track called “True Colors” from his 2015 album of the same name, which Kesha performed with him at Coachella last week. You can watch and download the performance here. Some fans believed Kesha to be the unaccredited vocalist on the original track.
Whatever the outcome, we’re extremely hyped to hear the new music! Will this be a milestone in the #FreeKesha movement?
