Lady Gaga nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award for ‘Til It Happens To You’

Lady Gaga’s most recent single, “Til It Happens To You,” is nominated for Best Song at the 21st annual Critics’ Choice Awards next month in Los Angeles.

The track was written by Diane Warren and Lady Gaga for The Hunting Ground, a CNN-backed documentary following sexual assault on college campuses. The music video has reached 20 million views since its release in September.

“Til It Happens To You” also earned a nomination at the 58th Grammys for Best Song Written for Visual Media, as well as at the 20th Satellite Awards for Best Original Song.

Lady Gaga acknowledged her own rape experience at a TimesTalk event last week in New York City. The TimesTalk included Lady Gaga, Diane Warren, director Kirby Dick and producer Amy Ziering and was hosted by New York Times columnist Frank Bruni.

“I really hope that anyone watching this today hears that the most important people to change the world is you. I’m not looking to the government to change my life, I’m not looking toward the next president, I’m not looking toward our next world leaders. I’m looking at everyone in this room.

“You are culture.”
