Late last month, Dr. Luke subpoenaed Lady Gaga in his case against Kesha Sebert, claiming the Joanne singer had text messages with Kesha that would help win his defamation case against her sexual assault allegations. Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, submitted four pages of heavily-redacted text messages.
Now, after refusing to set a date to meet with Luke’s attorney for over a month, Lady Gaga is scheduled to provide a deposition in court in September to discuss the messages in their entirety. According to an agreement filed by the Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday, the star will bring a copy of the uncensored messages, too.

A spokesperson for the singer, whom kicked off her Joanne World Tour on Aug. 1, says the star’s involvement is unnecessary.
“Dr. Luke’s team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga’s role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests,” Sean Cassidy said.
“Lady Gaga has always been prepared to testify so long as reasonable limitations were established. That has now been accomplished,” her lawyer Orin Snyder said.
Shortly after publicly supporting Kesha online, Lady Gaga went silent and explained that there were forces outside of her control stopping her from being able to help more. She even said she worried her family would be in danger.
“Nobody wants to say anything implicitly against anyone. Number one, because none of us are vindictive people. We don’t want to hurt anybody. But number two, I think everyone’s really afraid of somebody coming after them. And that’s just the way that this business works,” Gaga said. “I’m trying to be standing by her, but I’m also trying to protect myself and my family, and it’s a very complicated thing.”
Dr. Luke sure is going to extreme lengths to clear his name of sexual assault allegations, but will he ever really win? Hopefully not. We already know that Kelly Clarkson was blackmailed into working with him, and both her and P!nk refuse to ever work with him again.Published in
