Marina and the Diamonds releases ‘True Colors’ cover

Marina And The Diamonds Froot album photoshoot

The first new music from Marina and the Diamonds in 2016 dropped via a leak Tuesday morning and is a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors.”

There’s no telling when the track was recorded, but it could have been for the rerelease of Marina’s 2015 album FROOT which was cancelled in August.

“True Colors” was written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. The song was first released by Cyndi Lauper in 1986.

Listen to the track below, and let us know what you think in the comments! You can download it for free here.

Update: hours after the leak, Marina tweeted the song to her fans with a “Happy New Year” message. Maybe this was meant as a gift, after all.
