It has been a couple years since we’ve heard anything new from P!nk but that’s about to change now.
The singer-songwriter released an empowering new single titled “Just Like Fire” on April 15 in promotion for the new movie Alice Through The Looking Glass.
The track describes celebrating individuality, which is extremely fitting for the film which is full of odd and random characters.
The song opens up with an acoustic guitar, as Pink sings, “No one can be just like me anyway.” It then builds up with a dubstep drop then there’s a rap breakdown too. It’s so Pink! The track was co-written by Shellback, Max Martin, Pink and Oscar Holter and was produced by Shellback, Martin and Holter specifically for the movie.
This is the first time she has ever written an original song for a movie! What an honor and incredible feat for this very talented music artist.
Earlier in the year, she also recorded a cover of Jefferson Airplane’s song “White Rabbit,” also for the film. She was obviously over the moon about this and tweeted out to her 27.9m Twitter followers as she shared the exciting news: “Check out my version of “White Rabbit” for the brand new Alice Through The Looking Glass trailer!!!!”
We are EXTREMELY happy to have you back in the music world Alecia! Your voice has been missed.
“Just Like Fire” is going to be stuck in your head for days on end. Check out the hot new single below and be sure to pick up digitally now!
