Following the release of his Noah Cyrus collab “Expensive,” singer Rence is gearing up for his EP debut with Epic Records. Fall 2019 is set to release on September 20 boasting six tracks written by the singer.
Rence started turning heads in 2018 with the release of his self-produced “Baby Blue” off his independent EP Pink. The track has over 4 million streams, enough to grab the attention of his current label.
“Expensive” gave a taste of the singer’s style as he makes a home for himself in pop music. The track also marks Noah Cyrus’ first release in nearly a year.
On recording with Rence, Cyrus said, “I’ve been in my own world for almost 11 months, and I’m so excited Rence is my first collab back. The record was undeniable from the moment I heard it, and it sounded electric when we had it finished.”
Fall 2019 explores a darker element in pop music. Rence’s debut shows off a mature sound for the 21-year-old exploring themes of love, ego and his reputation. The EP also paves the singer’s way as a song writer, as he bounces from genre-to-genre in six tracks.
“When I’m creating music, I’m never thinking about the genre,” he describes. “The only thing on my mind is, Do I like this or do I not?… From a technical producer standpoint, you’ve never had more access to a world of sounds than right now. It’s just easy to mix and match sounds from different soundscapes, so why not?”
Listening to Fall, it is clear to say Rence is coming in full force. Throwing hip-hop, indie, electric, and pop music into a blender is the closest way to describe the sound of his debut!
