Jason Derulo released the impressive first single from his upcoming album today, called “Want To Want Me.” Derulo took over the radio stations last year with “Talk Dirty” and “Wiggle,” but will his latest track do the same in 2015?
“Want To Want Me” loses the club-friendly vibes Jason had on his previous singles but welcomes a new 80’s sounding pop record. No funky horn rifts, no beat drops — just a fun melody with catchy lyrics and falsetto vocals.
The flashy bass line opens the song to a happy pace right from the start. Derulo will have you ready to dance by the end of the first verse and have you trying to sing along to his smooth falsetto notes by the time the hook hits!
“If you want me girl, you got me/ There’s nothing I wouldn’t do just to get up next to you,” he sings in the feel-good chorus. The song’s retro sound works really well for the “Wiggle” singer.
Overall this track is a welcomed change of tune for Jason Derulo. It’s sure to be blasted on radio stations soon and is a perfect track to welcome the warmer weather. While it’s not much of a club track, it is a great jam song that’s hard not to dance along to. We can’t wait to see it performed at the 2015 iHeart Radio Music Awards on March 29.
