Shawn Mendes was one of the many acts that took the stage at Z100 New York’s Jingle Ball on Dec. 11, 2015. The show was streamed online so that fans all over the world can tune in.
Mendes was welcomed with screams and opened up his set with “Something Big” in which he was accompanied by just him and his guitar *Swoon.* Afterwards he performed his wildly successful single “Stitches.” The fans excitingly sang along to the hit while the Vine turned superstar brought his all.
The third song the singer/songwriter performed was “Never Be Alone.” He asked the crowd to bring out their phones to shine a light during this one. With the whole arena illuminated by the flashlights, it was an absolutely beautiful moment.
There was a quiet moment as Mendes brought out his band to perform his new single “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” with Camila Cabello from the superstar girl group Fifth Harmony. The big screen featured a moment from the music video. It was then that the arena really filled with cheering and screaming when Cabello arrived on stage. She was welcomed with open arms while her and Mendes performed the hit.
Overall, Shawn put on an incredible set! To be honest, I really wasn’t a fan until I watched his set on the live-stream. I’m a huge fan of Fifth Harmony and when I heard Camila was going to put out a track with Shawn, I was excited to hear Camila’s parts but not Shawn’s. Slowly but surely, I’m becoming a fan of his.
