Teen pop superstar Shawn Mendes has admitted that he and One Direction’s Niall Horan have been in constant contact for a while now, before going on to confirm that a collaboration between the two is currently in the pipeline.
Shawn Mendes has been in London for the past week or so and made an appearance on Capital FM yesterday. Whilst on the show, Mendes confirmed that he and One Direction’s Niall Horan have been in touch for a long while now and have even talked about the idea of writing music together.
In the interview, hosted by Capital FM’s Roman Kemp, Shawn made it pretty clear that there was something in the pipeline between himself and Niall…
“He’s got a great vibe happening with this acoustic thing so I really want to get involved with it, if he is down… which he is, I think.”
Niall is currently making appearances on some of the world’s top talk shows and radio stations as part of the promotion for his hit song This Town. Horan has already appeared on Ellen, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Graham Norton Show, BBC Radio 1 and Capital FM’s Breakfast Show.

So, we know that a collaboration will definitely happen, it’s just a matter of time!
Shawn is currently preparing for his Illuminate World Tour, which kicks off on November 1st 2016 at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, Australia. (Tour tickets are available here.)
After the Australia leg of his tour, Shawn is taking a four-month break before heading back out on the road for performances in The Philippines in March 2017. Mendes will be back in the UK in April for shows in Glasgow and Manchester, before returning to London to play The O2 Arena on June 1st.
