An unlikely source confirmed Saturday night that Lady Gaga is in the studio working on her next pop record.
Sophie Xeon (or SOPHIE) is a transgender singer, songwriter, and producer who has worked on tracks for Charli XCX, Kendrick Lamar, and Madonna.
Rumors spread last month that Sophie had worked on Gaga’s next album, but she confirmed it officially last night when asked by a fan. Lucky for us, the fan was filming. See the video below.

Fans have speculated for months that work had begun on Lady Gaga’s next album, but the speculation was watered down with the knowledge that she and Tony Bennett were working on their second collaboration while she finished the soundtrack for A Star Is Born.
Now all three albums we already promised are 100% confirmed! No release dates have been announced, but we expect the ASIB soundtrack to drop with the movie premiere in October. It’s likely that either the jazz album or pop record could drop by the end of December, and the remaining album would come next year.
Gaga has been spotted at recording studios in recent months with electronic music producers Boys Noize and BloodPop (“Perfect Illusion”). According to Idolator, she has also been working on new tracks with DJ White Shadow (“Applause,” “Born This Way”).
Sophie was likely introduced to Gaga through mutual friend BloodPop. She is known for her kinetic and experimental sounds. Check out the video for her track “Faceshopping” below.
