If you’ve been watching the first season of The Masked Singer on FOX, you might’ve had a few guesses about who was in that monster costume. Tonight’s finale revealed the fan-favorite was the unguessable T-Pain.
T-Pain won the singing competition’s first season with his performance of “Stay With Me” by Sam Smith.
When asked why he entered the left-field reality show, the rapper said that he’s a monster because that’s what the world has called him. He moved out of the public eye for a while and he wants to make a comeback with a new mixtape. He said that he wanted to “rewrite my mixtape to prove that I’m more than just puff and fluff.”
Other performers revealed during the season finale were Donny Osmond as the Peacock and Gladys Knight as the Bee.
“I think I was the most fun. Everybody was so serious, concentrating on their singing or their performance,” he says. “I was there to have fun. I don’t want to say I didn’t care, but it was like a nonchalant, ‘If I’m going, I’m going to go out with a bang.'”
Since “Masked Singer” was taped last year, T-Pain was able to time the release of his sixth album, “1Up,” to the end of Wednesday’s finale.Note: Populove is currently undergoing site maintenance following a hiatus.
