Christian Ewing, a Taylor Swift fan and felon who (allegedly) jumped a fence and rushed on stage at her August 29 concert in San Diego, is facing nearly five years in prison and has already been issued a restraining order.
On Wednesday, Ewing appeared in court and plead not guilty to two felony charges, a misdemeanor and a municipal code violation.
“When asked why he went on stage, he said, ‘I love that girl,’ referring to Ms. Swift,” Deputy District Attorney Jessica Coto said in court.
As Ewing made his way onto the stage, a security guard grabbed him but not securely enough to stop the 26-year-old from pulling himself up where Taylor Swift had been performing “Style” just moments before. An altercation occurred when security tackled Ewing on stage, leaving one of Swift’s security guards with major injuries to his ribs. Sources say the injured guard will need eight weeks to recover.
The craziness continued for Christian Ewing even after he was off the stage. When interrogated by the police, Ewing gave officers a fake name. Even crazier? He showed up in court with a large bandage over his forehead.
According to Coto, Ewing has a warrant out for his arrest for an unrelated theft in Florida, as well as an assault-related offense in Georgia. He was convicted outside of California for the manufacturing of drugs in 2013. Ewing is now in jail with bail set at $100,000. He returns to court September 14.Note: Populove is currently undergoing site maintenance following a hiatus. Some post images and comments from previous months may not appear as we work on the issue.
