Fan Project: Thank You For Joanne

Fan Project: Thank You For Joanne

Lady Gaga just released her latest and most personal album to date, and people are hooked! Not only is Joanne set to become Gaga’s fourth number one album a la Billboard’s Top 200, but according to a recent interview with Howard Stern, the record is also what officially sealed the deal for her upcoming Super Bowl gig.

Joanne delivers the rhythmic music we loved from Gaga since day one, but breaks from the pop genre we’re used to. Instead, the record takes on a much more personal approach, void of the heavy metaphors and concepts that we’ve seen in the past.

Stripped down and revved up, Joanne is a side of Lady Gaga that has moved so many. In return, we’ve been collecting letters all week to thank Gaga for spilling her heart out on this record! Check out some of our submissions below, and continue to add your own “Thank You” letters here!

Dear Lady Gaga,

As I can go on about how Joanne has moved me, I’d like to keep my words simple. Thank you for writing this record. Your words, your melodies, your voice… everything hits so deeply. You’ve truly inspired me, once again. From my heart, Lady Gaga, thank you for releasing this album.

Love always,
Corey Ware

Dear Lady Gaga,

Thank you so much for being such an inspiration for my own artistry. Joanne has made me think of my own aunt who passed away in a car crash when I was three years old. I feel closer to her because of this record and I thank you so much for that!

Love always,

Dear Lady Gaga,

I want to thank you for Joanne because it made me realize how much grief I still had trapped inside me after the unexpected death of my Aunt Nancy two years ago. She was my soulmate, confidant, friend, and a much needed advocate at a difficult and trying time in my life. I will never understand why she was taken when I needed her the most. The lyrics to the song, Joanne, evoked a plethora of emotion in me that I needed to feel. “Joanne’s” simplicity is quite complex, and the calm melody, quite stormy. Beautiful, emotional and genuine, just like Joanne’s niece.

Thank you for sharing this part of you with me, Lady Gaga. I bet Joanne and Nancy are both soaring high with pride.

Love,
Cathy Ware

Dear Lady Gaga,

I want to thank you for Joanne because, in just one sentence, what this album and the rest of the your music means to me is: You make me excited to live my life!!! This record was so personal for you to write and I love that you dedicated this album to your aunt, but in this album I can now relate to you more than ever. When you said you had  a vision of writing for the girl in the back row with no makeup, cheap clothes, crying at your show with a drink in hand and her kids (but I don’t have kids lol) that was a perfect description of me!

This album is playing with my emotions. I love crying to “Million Reasons” and  dancing/laughing to “A Yo.” When I am pissed and need a stress release, I sing to “Perfect Illusion.” To put me in a good mood, I listen to “Come To Mama” and “Just Another Day” and to my guilty pleasure song, “Dancing In Circles” lol. Thank you again, you’re truly an amazing/beautiful person inside and out❤️❤️❤️

Your monster fan,
Cristina (@IAMPEACEMONSTER)

Dear Lady Gaga,

Gaga You are my life! You inspire me to be myself every single day! The song “Joanne” really hit me as it reminded me of both of my Nanas when they were passing. Keep it up girl already waiting for the next album and tour. Cant wait to see you in Melbourne again!
P.S. I’m the guy who always yells out love you mother monster hehe.

Thank you for everything you have done for me without you I wouldn’t know where I would be. Love you more than words could say and I hope one day I can tell you this and much more in person.

Lots Of Love,
Rygaga/Lilmnsta

Dear Lady Gaga,

Hi, Gaga. I first saw you singing Just Dance on the Miss Universe pageant, where the girl representing my country (Venezuela) won. I was so captivated with that weird girl (you) who acted like she was a total superstar but whose name I had never heard before. Ever since then I’ve been a devoted fan, like full on fan, and thanks to that I grew so much. I learned to love myself with Born This Way, as many of us, I met my first love, and I made the greatest friends… all through your music. You have got me through the deepest pain and helped me celebrate my biggest joys, and right now I can tell you’re happier than ever, so I’m happy too. Unfortunately my country is facing dark days, as you may know, and I can’t buy your music (thank God for streaming services lol) or see you live (THANK GOD FOR FACEBOOK LIVE), but you still give me an outlet, a safe place, and encourage me to use my voice, to be strong, to put all the negativity aside for a while and… dance in circles perhaps. Thank you for your voice, for your honesty, for your dedication and for believing in me somehow when I didn’t.

PS: I wanna add that on senior year I wrote an essay that won a contest, about bullying and the BTW Foundation, because that fact might make you smile, and that’s one hell of a goal.

Love and happiness, Alessandro.
