Halsey’s performance of “Sorry” at the Common Ground Music Festival in Lansing, Michigan on Friday grew especially powerful when the star broke into tears.
The song is about having to say goodbye to your lover because you don’t believe anyone can love you, and the lyrics are heartbreaking.
“Sorry to my unknown lover. Sorry that I can’t believe that anybody ever really starts to fall in love with me,” Halsey sings.
The tears came rushing in as she repeated the words “someone will love you.”
Friday’s emotional performance is likely a sign of the singer’s feelings following her recent split with G-Eazy. The two parted ways last weekend after a year of dating.

In an Instagram story, Halsey shared the following message about the breakup:
“G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart. I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and my career and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best. Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time.”
