‘The Last of Us’ Renewed For Second Season

news
The Last of Us is definitely not dying (or being reborn as a fungal-infected monster) any time soon. HBO announced today that it had officially renewed its new hit series, based on the PlayStation video game, for a second season. The renewal comes a few days after the second episode of The Last of Us was watched by 5.7 million viewers on the channel as well as HBO Max. Those numbers actually represent a 22 percent increase from the premiere — the largest such week two jump in the history of HBO. Meaning much like the infection that brings about the end of civilization in the show, The Last of Us is spreading rapidly. Here was The Last of Us co-creator (and The Last of Us game writer and co-director) Neil Druckmann had this to say about the renewal:...

After four movies and six seasons, The Karate Kid saga will finally come to an end. That’s the word from Netflix today, as they announced that Cobra Kai, the sequel series to the original Karate Kid films, will return for a sixth season on the streamer — but that that season will also be the end of the series. As part of the news, series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg sent a letter to fans, which reads in part: Our day one goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined. So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement. The upcoming Season Six will mark the conclusion of Cobra Kai. While this may be a bittersw...

Stephen Amell to Return as Green Arrow on ‘Flash’ Final Season

news
For years, DC Comics’ TV shows were collectively known as the Arrowverse, thanks to the fact that they all slowly spun out of The CW’s Arrow. And for a while, it was a fitting moniker, as there was a whole slew of DC shows all on the air (and occasionally intersecting) including The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, and Black Lightning. But Arrow — starring Stephen Amell as DC hero Green Arrow — ended in 2020, and right now there is just one Arrowverse series left, The Flash. And it’s scheduled to end with its upcoming ninth season. But the show, and the Arrowverse in general will at least go out with a little style — and the return of its title character one last time, with the news that Amell will reappear as ...

Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 5 Review, Thoughts, and Theories

filmes
We’re nearing Yellowstone Season 5’s midseason finale, folks, but Taylor Sheridan is still serving entrees in lieu of the main course. Episode 5 gives us a fairly significant altercation between Beth and Summer, imparts some important life lessons ripped straight from the mind of Rip, and prepares us for a branding expedition that could span several episodes. Let’s get to it! What Worked in Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 5 A fire burns in the distance but has yet to pose a problem. Everyone dismisses the threat, but I wonder if it will factor in later episodes.A flashback shows John and Co. heading off to bring the cattle down from the mountains for some good ole fashioned branding; a plot point echoed in the present day. “No one knows what we do here anymore,” John tells Ri...
