The Thunderbolts Disney Plus streaming release date is hotly anticipated, and subscribers are wondering when they can start streaming the film.
Marvel fans cannot wait to see Thunderbolts as the upcoming film will see the return of many previously established MCU characters such as Bucky Barnes and Yelena Belova and showcase the MCU’s first antiheroic team. Here’s when Thunderbolts could be available to stream.
When is the predicted Thunderbolts Disney Plus streaming release date?
Thunderbolts has a theatrical release date of December 20, 2024. Accordingly, fans will have to wait until March or April 2025 for the film to drop on Disney Plus. However, if there is a delay in the theatrical release of the film, then fans should expect a delay in the streaming release as well.
The reason to expect a March or April 2025 streaming release date for Thunderbolts is because of Marvel Studios’ pattern of releasing its theatrical films on Disney Plus roughly two to three months after it plays exclusively in theaters. As for a likelihood of a delay in the film’s release, the ongoing strikes by the Writer’s Guild of America and SAG Aftra Actors make it increasingly possible.
The plot of Thunderbolts will focus on a group of heroes and antiheroes/villains who undertake top-secret and shady missions for the government.
Thunderbolts will star Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen, Ayo Edebiri, Steven Yeun, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Is Thunderbolts coming out on Disney Plus?
Thunderbolts will be available to watch via streaming on Disney Plus roughly three to four months after it drops in theaters.
The reason that Thunderbolts will stream on Disney Plus is because the film is produced by Marvel Studios, a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company, which owns the Disney Plus streaming platform.
Current Disney Plus subscribers will be able to watch Thunderbolts when it’s added to the service. An ad-supported basic Disney Plus subscription costs $7.99 a month, while an ad-free premium Disney Plus subscription costs $10.99 a month/$109.99 a year. Starting from October 2023, however, a Disney Plus monthly premium subscription will cost $13.99 a month.
Thunderbolts’ official synopsis reads:
“A world without Avengers doesn’t mean there’s not a group of superheroes. There is a group and they’re called the Thunderbolts.”
